Style At Home is a Canadian magazine about decorating and design. I found from their website some nice ideas about updating home decor with a new carpet. From here you can find the original article.

My favourites were "Traditional and stylish", "Bold and brilliant" and "Pretty petals".

Halloween is here! Soon...

It's not long until Halloween! Or am I just early... I have never decorated my house for Halloween since trick or treating isn't a habit in Finland. And I live in high-rise... But well, that shouldn't be a problem. Few times I have had halloween parties with my friends, but our decorating has limited to paper pumpkins and bats. Inspired by Halloween I searched for some nice decorations and ideas. Trick or treat!

Handmade Mirror on Antique Glass

If you love handicraft or antique product, then you are definitelygoing to love this handmade mirror made on vintage frames.  Get this awesome product to mesmerize your ownlook and add beauty to your home. There are three kind of it available:

This mirror with a combination of regular bright silver anddark tarnished silver is moon shaped. The wood frame is an antique wood frame. The mirror is approximately 24” in diameter. There is wire on the back forhanging.

Moon Mirror with Antique Frame

The mirrors are hand-silvered on authenticantique glass. The antique glass is slightly wavy and so distorts thereflection in places. The handmade mirrors are made with a combination ofbright silver and tarnished silver for a "flowy" look to the silver.

Both mirrors have a wire on the back to hangvertically

Mini Vintage Mirror Pair

Thisis a pair of handmade mirrors in matching refurbished vintage frames. They areapproximately 13" high and 5" wide each.
Themirrors are entirely silver and tarnished silver in combination to create theabstract patterns on each piece of glass. Although each mirror is entirelyreflective, the reflection is somewhat fragmented: the "spots" inbright silver are perfectly reflective like any mirror, the dark"stripes" less so, they give off a more darkened subtle reflection.

The gilded frames in copper leaf and a greenpatina have a purple wash.
All in all this pair of framed mirrors is veryunusual and totally one of a kind!
There is wire on the back of each mirror to hangvertically.

This time of a year it starts to be dark outside and the weather gets colder, at leat in Finlad. Candles are a good way to bring some light and warmth to autumn.

Animal Print

One eye-catching idea for interior decorating is to use animal prints. There are many prints to choose from, for example snake, zebra, leopard and cow. These kinds of prints are exotic or should I say wild, but they might not be for everybody. I don't know if the assumption audience is animal lowers or those who don't really mind. Maybe it depends about the reality of the used fabric, at least when talking about textiles. How do you feel about animal prints in interior design?
